Providing basic knowledge about UP Cebu University Libraries, the services and how to avail of the services are the main objective of each topic to discuss.
Part 1. The Libraries and Library Hours
Before knowing thoroughly the different sections and services of the UP Cebu University Library, let’s get to know first the library service hours of the UP Cebu campuses.
UP Cebu has two different campuses. The UP Cebu Lahug campus is for the undergraduate students. This is where formal education for the bachelor’s degree undertakers takes place.
The UP SRP Library situated in the UP Cebu Professional Schools, located at the South Road Property (SRP), dedicated to the graduate and post-graduate students.
Situated at the third floor, the image shows the UP Cebu Professional Schools. The circular-shaped building is the Learning Common Building where the Library for the graduate and post-graduate students is located.
UP Cebu Libraries also welcomes Non-UP researchers and visitors subject to our rules and regulations.
Part 2. Vision, Mission, and Goals
Vision
The University of the Philippines Cebu University Library is to provide a cutting-edge learning environment to our students, faculty, REPS and staff by having additional service – a service that blends in with our changing generation and evolving need of academic information.
Mission
To be the collaborators in achieving excellence in teaching, creating outstanding research outputs, and delivering excellent operational services.
Goals
1. To provide space for students to collaborate, engage, develop, and create ideas in conducive learning environment;
2. To develop all sources of collection in all area of programs offered not limited to print materials;
3. To achieve an excellent service and assistance to all library users when providing information sources needed;
4. To improve access to all library resources for the UP Cebu community;
5. To formulate, develop, and implement plans for the use of technology to help library personnel in delivering better and excellent service.
